Getting into town

Getting to Santa Fe if you are visiting from outside New Mexico can either be done via plane with several flights coming into Santa Fe Municipal Airport daily from Dallas and LA, or via car for which you need to come from Interstate 25. However if you are already in New Mexico, you have a third option too and that is the train. The New Mexico Rail Runner Express is a good commuter rail line with decent service.

What to see?

Santa Fe has a lot of exciting places that you can visit during your trip here and every single one of them has a very unique and welcoming tourism experience in store for you. Some of these places have been briefly mentioned here:

  • New Mexico History Museum: Located inside the Palace of the Governors which is the oldest public building ever built in the United State, it is one of the finest museums in all of New Mexico. The exhibits provide a great amount of information about the building’s history and it also has an antique printing press that is in fully functioning condition. Tickets are $9.
  • Rancho de los Golondrinas: This is one of the most popular spots in all of Santa Fe with a living history museum inside it. A proper portrayal of the way life was during the Spanish colonial era has been done here and the whole thing is really a mesmerizing journey through time. Tickets for adults are $5.
  • Santa Fe Children’s Museum: Santa Fe has made proper preparations for keeping your children amused too and this museum provides a great opportunity for children to learn actively by view interactive exhibits. There are several outdoor activities too for the children. Tickets at this place cost $8.

There are festivals being held here throughout the year and they include a wide range of performances, dances, rituals and partying.
